Private boat
- Sheltered anchorages at the Isthmus (Wharf Bay and Ocean Beach). Check weather and tides before departure.
- All biosecurity rules apply — inspect your vessel and gear before leaving the mainland.
Camping
A DOC campsite is available near the Isthmus, close to Ocean Beach and Wharf Bay. The wharf is approximately 10–15 minutes’ walk from the campsite.
- Amenities block with toilets, changing rooms, and running water
- Non-powered sites (no electricity available)
- No dogs permitted
- No open fires (gas BBQs approved)
- Take all rubbish home — no collection on the island
- All camping gear must pass biosecurity check before departure
